Heather
LonelinessSelf-absorption, needing to be heard
Step 1 · State (recognise)
You need to be heard and answered, and once you're alone, the blankness inside becomes obvious.
Step 2 · Allow (the core)
I allow myself to be accompanied, without having to hold on tight.
Step 3 · Back to the body
Notice your throat or your chest. The body is touching, the body is breathing.
If you'd like the body to hold this state more easily, this is a good place to start.

Releasing pressure

In depth
【Emotional signature】
Heather shows up when there is loneliness inside and a longing for connection. You may want very much to speak, to share, to be understood — confirming through constant expression that you are not alone. This isn't self-centredness. It's a real need: for someone to be present, for someone to hear. When that need isn't received, the body reaches outward more urgently.
【Through the lens of neuroception】
What this card reflects: the body treats being heard and answered as its cue for safety, so when the answering thins out, unease rises.
In this state, the body may show:
* Tightness in the throat; an urgency to speak, a fear of being passed over
* An empty drop in the chest, as if a response were missing
* Attention searching outward the moment interaction stops
This is not a problem. The body is checking whether it is still inside connection — it just leaves you tired.
【How this essence supports you】
The support of Heather is in helping you find a balance between company and solitude. It doesn't deny the longing to express; it lets the body slowly learn that quiet does not mean being left behind. When connection can be felt inside, the reaching outward loosens on its own.
【Today's practice】
In a moment alone or in conversation, pause first. Let your attention rest lightly on your throat or your chest. There's no need to change your breathing — just know that the body is breathing. Let the wish to be heard be felt, without rushing to say anything.
【Working with MUNI Scent】
Press a small amount of MUNI Scent into your palm, or open the bottle near your nose and take three easy breaths of it. Then rest a hand below your throat or on your chest and let scent and touch keep you company, without expecting anything to change.
Smell is the only sense that skips rational analysis and reaches the centres of emotion and memory directly —
let the scent be a presence in the room, so the body can feel: I have not been left behind.
How to work with this
Body awareness here is not about hunting for what hurts,
and not about making the body become something.
It's about choosing a part of the body that is relatively easy to feel,
so attention has somewhere to rest.
This is not for the sake of stopping expression,
nor to make yourself quieter.
It is simply keeping company with the experience that is happening.
No intervening, no correcting — letting awareness unfold on its own, once it's allowed to.
For practitioners
If you are using this card with a practitioner:
* Stay present and gentle in your voice; avoid interrupting or changing the subject
* Watch for speech slowing, the throat releasing, the breath returning to the chest
* You might say: "You don't have to explain anything right now. I'm here."
When you use MUNI Scent together:
In a shared scent environment, the body finds it easier to feel accompanied,
so connection no longer rests on talking — it's simply there.
