Someone else is doing well, and something in me stings
A friend shares good news; you like the post and you're genuinely pleased for them. Then you put the phone down and something in you sinks.
Then you start reproaching yourself: that's petty, isn't it. So the sourness gains a layer of shame and gets even harder to say.
In the end you say nothing and scroll a bit longer.
What may be going on
Comparison is close to automatic. Seeing where someone stands, people instinctively measure where they are — a basic response, not a defect of character.
The sting usually means you want that thing too. So there's information inside it: it points at what you care about.
Treat it as an enemy and all you can do is suppress it. Treat it as information and you get a chance to see clearly where you want to go.
Essences that may fit

Holly
Envy, anger, suspicion
Envy, suspicion, the sting inside. It doesn't accompany you towards generosity but lets the feeling exist before it's put on trial.

Larch
Low confidence, expecting to fail
If "I probably couldn't do it either" follows the comparison, this one comes closer.

Cerato
Distrust of your own judgement
If you often calibrate yourself against other people's choices, look at this one.
One small thing you can do now
Next time the sting appears, don't rush to deny it.
Ask inwardly: in this, what do I actually want? The outcome itself, or the feeling of being seen?
You don't need an answer straight away. Simply turning the question around makes the sourness more than sourness.
